This is where you NEED to spend quite a bit of time. Most people are skeptical and even cynical by nature, but you have to remove that skepticism and start to BELIEVE in YOURSELF more than ever. Though you may have a past that does not seem to reflect a positive future, it’s more than likely that it will happen IF you believe it to be so. If you have attempted at a business before, you may think that you don’t have what it takes. However, with the law of attraction, you have to be a bit more creative. Maybe you were just in the WRONG business.

3. You have to be SWIFT to take action.

If you hesitate, if you second guess yourself and all of your decisions, then you are going to miss out on opportunities that are all around YOU. Personal Time Management Allows You To Enjoy Life More

We all have a limited time on this planet and we should aim to make the best use of it. There are times when the hours drag by and times when it seems faster but there are only 24 hours every day. We should strive to make the most of each day as we only have 365 each year. None of us knows how many years we have left but it would be a shame not to enjoy these best and only years of our lives.

Time is something we get in a very limited quantity. We all want more of everything but the one thing you can never get more of is time. Some things never change and time will not stop or slow down just for you. You can only ever achieve what is possible in the time you have.

Ask yourself if you are getting the best value you can out of this limited number of minutes and years you have. The phrase time management is a term we associate with business efficiancy but we can all learn time management skills and use the techniques in our daily lives to achieve more or what we want from life.

There are limits to what is possible but we all have hopes and dreams of things we want to achieve. Spend more of your time enjoying life with your family or more time travelling the world. Whatever you want to get out of life, if you can free up more of your time to do what you enjoy then you will be a happier person.

Think about the time you have had and what you spent that time doing to figure out how to get more from the time you have to come. Some things in life are important and others don’t matter at all and by keeping track of where our time goes we can make better choices of how we spend it.

In the years ahead you may look back and think about what you did this week. The chances are you will be angry that you wasted so many hours watching boring programs on TV? I expect you waste some time most days. Most of us do some things just to use up time until something is due to happen. You could do something more worthwhile than that. 6 Ideal Foods to eat before your marathon or training run

It’s race day! What can you eat that will help you avoid the dreaded marathon wall?

To help you figure out your pre-race breakfast, review our guidelines for what type of foods you should eat before your marathon.

If you are reading this the day before your race, you should probably stick to what has worked for you in the past. If you have a menu that has worked during your training, don’t be tempted to change anything.

But if you have not yet settled on a pre-race menu, here are options that work.

The best foods for your pre-marathon breakfast are foods you can find in any corner grocery store. Try each of these during training to see how they work for you. You don’t want to have settled on Ensure High Protein drink and only that and then discover it is sold out when you get to the store (yes this can happen when a lot of runners converge on an area).

How much you eat depends on how early you get up.  To figure out how many calories you can eat for breakfast, multiply the number of hours until the start of the race by 200-300 calories. If you plan to wake up 2 hours before start time, you can take in 400 – 600 calories. Take in the higher amount of calories if you ate an early dinner.

Here are specific recommendations:

Fruit with eggs

Boiled eggs travel well and scrambled eggs are easy to find in hotel restaurants. Choose fruit that is low in fiber such as:

  • bananas,

  • peaches,

  • cantaloupe,

  • honeydew, and

  • watermelon.

Fruits to avoid due to their high fiber content are:

  • apples,

  • berries,

  • dates,

  • figs,

  • grapes,

  • pears,

  • mango,

  • papaya and

  • pineapple.

If you are travelling remember to pack utensils you will need.

Applesauce mixed with protein powder

Make sure you get unsweetened applesauce. Add 2-3 tablespoons of protein powder.You can carry the powder in a ziploc with you, no need to bring the whole container.

Baby Food is always a good choice

Baby food is easy to find in the grocery store and it is easily digestible. You can even eat the meats if you could tolerate the taste pre-race.

Liquid meals are my standby

Due to nerves I often find I can’t manage whole foods. On race morning whole foods seem to get stuck in my throat. This is more true for an Ironman race than a marathon but I always have a liquid back-up just in case.

Make a smoothie from protein powder, fruit juice and 1-2 of the low-fiber fruit listed above. A small blender, such as a Magic Bullet, comes in handy for race travel.

Ensure High Protein drink is one I have used successfully. You can find it in the baby aisle of most grocery stores. This is my pre-bike ride drink. Though Ensure is rather expensive, you can find it on sale if you watch for it.

Sports bar with protein

This doesn’t work well for me as I have trouble chewing them when nervous. I know many runners who rely on these before a run. These must be taken with a good amount of water. Sports bars tend to be dry and your gut can draw fluids in to help with digestion; fluids you need in your race.

Drink plenty of fluid, including water

There is no reason not to have your morning coffee or tea just be SURE you have practiced this beforehand. Caffeine is known to cause upset stomach and nervousness as it speeds up your metabolism. This isn’t what you want before your marathon.

Have only water to drink during the last hour before the start of the marathon. Drinking fluid with sugar, such as a sports drink, may cause low blood sugar leading to light-headedness. (Of course that could be your nerves)!

Often digesting carbohydrates lead to a spike in insulin which causes a drop in blood sugar.This is especially true of the high-glycemic carbs found in sports drinks.

If you are worried you might be hungry – or woke up late – you can take in 100 – 200 calories from a sports drink or gel 10 minutes before the start time. By the time these carbs hit your blood stream you will be running and the exercise effort will blunt the insulin effect. Be sure to take this with 6-8 oz of water.
